Teens 2 Twenties
The ‘Teens2Twenties’ Bipolar Peer Support Group is a place of comfort and understanding before, during and after the highs and lows caused by bipolar disorder become overwhelming. A lead and a co-facilitator host stigma free conversations with youth about living with a mental illness. The group is encouraged to share their own stories, concerns, and experiences with each other, to create an environment for healing and self expression. A key objective of the project is to emphasize each individual’s strengths to empower them to make choices that will better their lives through self care, self-esteem and lifestyle choices. We create a safe and comfortable place for youth to participate with peers who have bipolar disorder in a 90-minute session per week. The group is not ‘drop in’ place per se but requires a meeting with the facilitator who seeks a commitment to attend. We would be grateful to hear from you! Workshop sessions bring together youth who live with bipolar to identify and utilize the resources they need to manage their lives.
